Visage Technologies releases the first MPEG-4 FBA Software Development Kit
Linköping, Sweden - Sept. 19.2003. - Visage Technologies AB released visage|SDKTM 1.0, the first Software Development Kit for MPEG-4 face animation. visage|SDK allows to integrate animated characters into any software product. It offers the full power of Visage Technologies' MPEG-4 face animation algorithms packed into a C++ SDK with comprehensive documentation and examples.
The basic features include coding, decoding and manipulation of standard MPEG-4 FBA bitstreams. Face models are animated from such bitstreams or directly using MPEG-4 Facial Animation Parameters (FAPs). The animation can be rendered in real time using OpenGL. Generic export classes make it easy to build exporters of face animation data towards any format, or to integrate the animation with custom renderers. Visual speech capability allows to generate speech and synchronised face animation using standard SAPI-4 TTS engines. Ready-to-animate face models are provided with the SDK, and new ones can be built within the SDK from sets of morph targets, or using other Visage Technologies' products.
