Eye and Gaze Tracking in visage|SDK™ is available as part of Facial Features Tracking, one of the default configurations visage|SDK™ FaceTrack, the powerful head- and facial features tracking engine developed by Visage Technologies. It is delivered in form of a well-documented C++ Software Development Kit.
FaceTrack provides real time gaze direction, as well as 3D and 2D coordinates of the eyes (pupils). Information is delivered through an easy-to-use API allowing to integrate the technology into any application. Tracking is fully automatic.
Furthermore, if a simple calibration is performed prior to a tracking session, results are available in form of screen-space gaze point, particularly useful for market research, user studies and other applications that benefit from knowing where (approximately) on the screen the user is looking. For an in-browser demonstration using the HTML5 version of visage|SDK™, please visit the HTML5 technology page.
The video below shows several tracking examples highlighting the gaze direction and pupil location results. Gaze direction is also applied to the eyes of the virtual character automatically imported from FaceGen. For a full specification please see the visage|SDK™ FaceTrack main page →.
